Feet with no signs of fungus

The fungus on the feet is a disease that no one is immune to. This disease will not go away on its own, so timely treatment is very important. Experts will tell you how to get rid of this problem.

Fungus on the feet: symptoms and causes

What is athlete's foot? Fungi or fungal diseases are diseases caused by pathogenic or opportunistic fungi. Usually, this disease is caused by skin fungi, as pointed out by the doctor and her colleagues, including Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and epidermophyton. However, microorganisms of the genus Candida can also cause pathology.

Fungal lesions on the skin of the legs are called dermatomycosis, and nail plates are called onychomycosis. Usually, pathological conditions are combined.

How to identify the fungus on the feet?

Symptoms vary depending on the type of fungus affecting the feet. However, there are general symptoms.

Initially, there will be dry skin, itchy soles, burning sensation, and folds between the toes. The doctor pointed out that if the nail plate is affected, its color will change slightly and the nail will become more brittle.

If no treatment is given, the situation will get worse. The following symptoms appear:

  • Small cracks between the toes, in the soles;
  • Peeling
  • foul smell;
  • Swelling, redness of folds between toes, arches;
  • Blisters and diaper rash;
  • Pain when walking;
  • Deformation of the nail plate (thickening or thinning, impaired growth, damaged nails).

Why does fungus appear on the feet?

Infections occur through contact with patients, skin contact surfaces, and objects with fungal spores. Swimming pools, saunas and bathrooms are the biggest risk of infection.

However, when using personal items (shoes, clothes, towels, towels) of an infected person in a pedicure office, you may get fungus. Even at home, you need to be careful not to use things from other family members, as the doctor points out.

There are several factors that can cause fungus to appear on the feet:

  • Wounds and cracks;
  • Excessive sweating and dry skin;
  • Poor sanitation;
  • flatfoot;
  • Circulatory disorders in the legs caused by vascular diseases;
  • Diabetes and immune system pathology.
